Botox for Migraines
Do you suffer from chronic migraines and can’t find a treatment that offers relief? A large number of migraine sufferers find that they have to exhaust multiple treatment options before they find something that works. However, many migraine sufferers are not aware that Botox is an effective facial injectable treatment for the condition. When Botox is used in migraine treatment by a trained clinical aesthetician, sufferers normally experience excellent results.
Botox injections are used to target a number of key areas by injecting Botox into shallow muscles just under the skin. If you are not overly enthused with needles, don’t worry. The needles used for Botox injections are small and our patients often describe the injection as feeling like no more than a tiny pinprick. Your clinical aesthetician will talk you through what the process involves and how many treatments are needed, and how often. You will have all the information you need to decide if Botox is the right treatment for your migraines.
Is Botox Safe?
Botox is safe for most people, although there are known side effects. Most medically based products have potential side effects, so your clinical aestheticians will educate you about signs for which to be aware. The good news is, there have been relatively few reports of adverse effects from people who have received treatments using Botox.
It is also important to note that according to a 2005 study, out of 36 reports to the FDA between 1989 and 2003, 13 people had underlying medical conditions. Researchers believe it is possible that those medical conditions may have caused the adverse reaction to the Botox treatment.
